The National Community Lottery Fund Award

Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre is delighted to announce that we have received a National Lottery award from The National Lottery Community Fund. The 3 year grant will fund 2 full time and a part time worker who will work across the Forth Valley area. This grant allows us to sustain and grow our current staffing.

This will have a positive impact on the lives of survivors of sexual violence as it will allow us to reduce waiting times as well as innovate in how we offer our trauma informed support.

During the lifetime of the project, we will partner with University of Stirling and Forth Valley college to offer on campus therapeutic support to those affected by sexual violence.

Stirling Marathon Fundraising

One of our board members is running the Stirling Great Run half marathon on the 28th of April to raise money to reduce our waiting list.

Falkirk Waiting List Open

Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre is happy to announce that we have reopened our waiting list to survivors from the Falkirk area. It has taken us 6 months to reopen the waiting list.

While we are relieved that we have been able to open the waiting list, the reality is that we still have one. We would like to be a service that doesn’t operate waiting lists but we are still very vulnerable to finding ourselves in the same position again.

We have been able to open the waiting list primarily through increased capacity due to funding from Falkirk council as well as the Scottish Government towards tackling waiting lists. These funds are welcome but are not enough. So we will continue to fundraise to ensure that our service is able to offer survivors support when they need it.

We would like to thank all our supporters who campaigned, lobbied and donated to us. We count on your continued support. Our biggest gratitude of course is to survivors who have been affected the most by this situation, we thank them for their patience with us. We hope that those who were unable to receive a service from us during this period will get in touch.
