Sexual violence prevention programme
In addition to our support and advocacy services, we aim to prevent sexual violence by raising awareness and challenging myths.
One of the most important ways in which we do this is through our sexual violence prevention programme. Young people want a safe space to talk about sex and relationships and our programme forms a key part of this.
Our evidence-based resource pack has been externally evaluated and findings indicate that our programme is very effective in changing young people’s knowledge and attitudes around sexual violence.
Our pack covers seven different topics:
- Gender
- Consent
- What is sexual violence?
- Impacts and support
- Sexualisation and pornography
- Social Media
- How can we prevent sexual violence?
We plan our programmes in partnership with schools and youth groups and each topic is adapted to suit different ages and/or needs. Each workshop consists of a variety of different exercises in order to ensure they are engaging, and to encourage and facilitate the participation of every pupil.
Every group of young people we deliver to is different, and we work with schools and youth groups to put together a programme which best suits the needs of the young people and in response to their timetables, whether this means a combination of the above workshops or delivering them individually.
