Sexual violence prevention workshops for young people with additional support needs and learning disabilities.

People with learning disabilities are 10-12 times more likely to experience sexual violence. These experiences of violence and abuse are wide-ranging and often recurring, including physical, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse. As well as various forms of abuse, often these experiences come from different perpetrators including people they have met online, partners, support staff and family.

We want young people with learning disabilities to feel more supported, educated, and able to make informed choices about their relationships, in the hope to reduce their likelihood to experiencing abuse.

We have worked together with NHS Forth Valley and community learning disability teams to ensure that these workshops are effective and engaging for young people with additional support needs.
