· The law

· Dealing with disclosures

· The work of Rape Crisis Centres

· Rape trauma syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder


Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

· Recognise some of the common myths and stereotypes surrounding rape & sexual abuse

· Describe the work of Rape Crisis Centres and their services

· Describe the laws relating to rape and other sexual offences

· Identify good practice in dealing with disclosures

· Recognise some of the features of rape trauma syndrome and post traumatic stress disorder

Anyone wanted to have a clearer understanding of sexual violence. Such as, domestic abuse workers, housing officers, teachers, education welfare officers, police officers, health and social care workers etc
